Dallas, TX) – Williams Chicken, known for cooking and serving fresh, hot fried chicken has taken its core value of serving the community to the next level. The fast casual restaurant announced it will allow some of its locations to accommodate COVID-19 vaccination centers.
In partnership with Rev. Richie Butler, Founder of Project Unity and The Catalyst Health Network, the Founder and CEO of Williams Chicken, Hiawatha Williams said he plans to start off with three locations to offer the free vaccinations. The first location was on July 10th at The Robert B. Cullum location in Dallas. The next two dates are July 24th at 2909 E. Illinois Ave. and August 7th at 4875 Sunnyvale St.
Williams says, “making the parking lot and other facilities available are of the utmost importance. I made it known to my team that I want to reach our customers and persons who live in underserved communities. I am concerned that people of color, the elderly, our youth and young adults may not have convenient access to get the shot or don’t have enough information to make the decision. Our customers trust us for fresh, hot chicken and we want them to trust us to bring the experts to our communities to help us survive and thrive this pandemic,” he said.
In Williams Chicken fashion, everyone who gets the vaccine will be offered a free meal. The vaccine choices are the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine for ages 18 and older, and the first dose Pfizer vaccine for ages 12 and older.
